The village of Granichar is located in the southwestern part of Sredets municipality, in a mountainous area - 2.5 km from the Turkish border. The village is located at about 340-350 m above sea level. Neighboring villages are: to the east - the village of Evrenozovo; to the west - the village of Belevren and the village of Kirovo; to the north - the village of Trakiytsi and the village of Bliznak.
Relief
The relief is rugged, but passable. The highest point is Batak Cheshme peak (508 m).

The climate of the village is transitional Mediterranean. The average annual amplitude is about 22 degrees. The air in the area of the village is clean and fresh,
Water
The water sources of the village are the rivers Belevrenska and Nasha Reka, as well as the streams Hadji Dere, Kyomurluka, Kozeli Bunar, Kulna Bunar, Chardak Bairski Dol, Kostov Dol and Piyachkin Dol. All these streams flow into the Fakiyska River (named after the village of Fakiya, not far from the village of Granichar).
