This country house is located in Porqueres (Girona), the Masia de Sant Bartomeu, and is integrated into the Sant Bartomeu Rural Complex. It is a blend of the luxury and magic of the Pyrenees with the taste of the 14th century.

It is a beautifully restored fourteenth-century stone country house, with a living area of 645 m2 on three floors.

This exceptional farmhouse, situated just 8 km from the beautiful lake of Banyoles, on 16 hectares of private land, has been restored with a finish of the highest quality and is one of the most remarkable features in the area.

Although originally from the 12th century, the property has been beautifully restored over the last four years by its current owners.

The exterior of the house still has all the characteristics and features of a typical Catalan stone farmhouse, while the interior of the house offers something original - a beautiful blend of contemporary and traditional environments, with a distinct oriental influence (much of the furnishings are handmade especially for the house and imported from Bali and other Far Eastern countries). The architect (Oriol Roselló) has also made intelligent use of the space and light with a large open staircase leading to all three floors of the house and spacious living rooms and bedrooms, all with lots of natural light.

The house is located in a beautiful rural setting on 16 acres of private land and offers stunning views of the volcanic hills of La Garrotxa, as far as the Pyrenees. Right next to the property is a beautiful 12th century chapel for the exclusive use of the owner 364 days a year (except on August 26th, when a beautiful public mass is held and attended by the families whose ancestors have inhabited the area for many generations).

Sant Bartomeu has four luxury bathrooms and a toilet on the ground floor of the Masia.

In the Great Suite on the third floor you will find a fully equipped bathroom with Turkish bath or Hamman.

Although Sant Bartomeu is a Masia that enjoys complete privacy, it is not isolated at all, as it is only 8 km (7 minutes) from the city of Banyoles, with its shops, cafes and restaurants and its spectacular lake (host of the rowing races in the Olympic Games of Barcelona in 1992).

The kitchen is the heart of the Masia, and as such it has a privileged location with total access to the Terrace from which the impressive view of the Pyrenees, accompany dinners as if it were a permanent play with which nature enchants us.

Second floor:

It is the main bedroom of the Farm, where you can appreciate three very different rooms:

- Bedroom with chimney.

- Changing room area with built-in wardrobe and marble bath.

- Private bathroom with hamman.

In addition, the bedroom has a beautiful view of the Pyrenees.

First floor:

On the first floor of the Masia Sant Bartomeu there are four bedrooms (one of which is a double and allows the placement of two single beds) that accept king-size beds, two bathrooms (one with bath and shower and another with shower) and an office that can be converted into a large suite or private library.

Ground floor:

It is the core of the farmhouse. Where one lives and shares. The large room with a large and cosy chimney, the character in the architecture of the typical Catalan vault ("Volta catalana", the largest in a private construction until 2016), the kitchen with the central island and the beautiful terrace overlooking the Pyrenees added to the ballroom or the library room, make this room the perfect place for meetings or celebrations of family events.

Outside:

Large outdoor terraces, swimming pool and gardens; purpose-built wine cellar with traditional vaulted ceiling.

Additional amenities: Underfloor heating (optional diesel oil and/or wood burning systems), connection to mains electricity; water from a private well.
